WHEN & WHERE

Church of the Annunciation

 

 

 

The 2008 Diocesan Assembly will be held at The Church of the Annunciation in Milwaukie, Oregon, from Tuesday, October 7, 2008 through Thursday, October 9, 2008.

On Tuesday, October 7, delegate sign-in will be held at the church after 3:00 PM. Vespers will be held at 6:00 PM. The Diocesan Council, including Deans and Department Chairs, will have a dinner meeting beginning at 6:30 PM on Tuesday evening.

On Wednesday October 8, the Hours will begin at 8:30 AM followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:00 AM. On Thursday October 9, the Hours will begin at 8:30 AM with the Divine Liturgy following at 9:00 AM. On Wednesday evening there will be a dinner for delegates and invited guests following 6:30 PM Vespers.

The Diocesan Assembly will begin on Wednesday after Brunch. The assembly will continue on Thursday, October 9 with a plan to adjourn at about 4:00 PM, possibly later. The Diocesan Council with newly elected members will have a short meeting following adjournment. Please make return flight arrangements for the evening, whenever possible.

A complete agenda and schedule, as well as reports, will be made available to all registered delegates and observers on this website in September.  Delegates will be responsible for downloading reports and reading the material prior to the Assembly.

DELEGATES: Assembly registration may be made on-line. Clergy and Lay delegates are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements. Parishes are responsible for the cost of travel and accommodations for their delegates.

Clergy and Lay delegates are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements.  Parishes are responsible for the cost of travel and accommodations for their delegates.

DELEGATE FEES:  An Assembly Assessment invoice will be mailed to parishes in July. The invoice is payable by September 1. The assessment covers delegate attendance at the assembly, dinner on Wednesday evening, meals and snacks.

OBSERVERS: Assembly registration may be done on-line. The fee for observers is $40.00, which covers assembly materials and snacks. Observers are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements. The cost of the dinner on Wednesday evening to observers is an additional $25.00. Those who wish to attend only the dinner are expected to fill out the Observer registration form indicating "dinner only" and will be expected to pay $25.00 for the dinner.

SPOUSES: Delegates, both Clergy and Lay, and Observers who wish to bring their spouses may do so. However, those spouses who are NOT accredited delegates are considered Observers and are subject to the same fees and deadlines as all other Observers.
