Below: (January 6, 2008) Walt von Hauffe, chairman
of the charity committee of Christ the Saviour Parish, presents a check for $500
to parishioner Svetlana Thomson. Svetlana is the San Francisco branch
director of the charity Russian Children’s Welfare Society, which provides
everything from clothes to prosthetic limbs to needy children in Russia. The
funds were raised by the parish at a benefit dinner in November of 2007. The
benefit was organized by Walt as an initiative of the parish charity committee.
