Fremont, CA - Orthodox Youth
from eight San Francisco Bay Area parishes came together for the "Psalm
104 Project" Youth Retreat and Service Project on Oct. 26-27, 2007.
Hosted by St. Christina of Tyre Mission
in
Fremont, CA, participants gathered for the two-day event to
discuss the Orthodox Christian understanding of creation and our role in
it and to participate in a service project preparing seedlings at the
nearby Don Edward's Wildlife Refuge in Fremont.
A true "inter-Orthodox" event,
participants came from parishes of the Orthodox Church in America, the
Antiochian Archdiocese, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of
Russia, and the Greek Archdiocese.
These retreats are part of a regional
effort to gather youth for fellowship, education, worship and service in
the Bay Area. Parishes from the area take turns hosting and planning
events which are centered around the St. Eugene's Camp in the summer,
the regional youth camp in the area.
